Sustainability

WE RESPECT THE LIMITS OF OUR PLANET, WE BUILD ON BASIC SOCIAL RIGHTS

As a company, we want to contribute to an economy that respects the limits of the planet and guarantees basic social rights. We want to assume this responsibility by systematically incorporating ecological, social and economic aspects into our daily management.

LOOKING FORWARD TO 2034

Within the Alsico group, we have set three main goals. They guide all our sustainability actions and all the stakeholder projects we participate in.

THE POSITIVE IMPACT OF OUR WORKWEAR

The clothes we make for you will ensure that you can come home from work in good condition every day. We make clothes that last. We carefully select materials that offer optimal protection. At the same time, however, we strictly avoid using any materials that are harmful to humans and nature.

Because quality is important, we also know exactly who makes your workwear and how. We employ 9,000 people worldwide with quality assurance experience. In other words, the Alsico group is directly connected to 9,000 families worldwide. We look after their well-being by creating stability and a safe workplace. Our mission starts with our own employees: Improving life in the workplace.

TWO MAIN GOALS

NET ZERO+ | LIVING WAGE+

Alsico Group's sustainability program can be summarized by these two main goals. In each of them, we have implemented steps and tools to help us achieve them. The target date is 2034. This date was not chosen at random. This year we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of our company. We made it a major event. Celebrating an anniversary is important for everyone.

Net zero+

"We now have a fabric that produces two-thirds less CO2"

We have been measuring our CO2 carbon footprint since 2016. As part of this process, we have found that 90% of our emissions come from the raw materials we buy. We also found that primary materials derived from fossil fuels produce double the emissions compared to emissions produced by recycled materials. That is why we are now betting on fabrics that use recycled materials and renewable fibers. A typical example is our sustainable Alsi-flex stretch fabric, which contains 79% recycled and renewable polyester. As a result, this fabric produces two-thirds less CO2 than a comparable fabric made of polyester and cotton.

Living Wage+

"Thanks to our own production, we are able to guarantee good working conditions without compromise"

The Alsico Group can rely on 21 production units worldwide. We employ a total of 9,000 workers in Mexico, Morocco, Tunisia, Madagascar, Laos and Thailand. No other manufacturer of work and protective clothing has as much in-house production capacity as Alsico currently has. When we say we take 100% responsibility, it means implementation in our own production units. However, there are few like us who are able to guarantee good working conditions without compromise. In addition, through our social engagement and human resource management, we create a workplace that enables the development of employees and all their skills. This is also verified by external audit systems such as BSCI amfori or Oeko-Tex STeP.
